Why Do Some Kids Win So Much and Other Kids Do Not Care About Winning?
Some people see superstars of young children at an early age. Is it superior genes? Some of the parents like to say it is, their genes of course. Yet is it superior bloodlines or just careful nurture or even pushing kids way too hard in their early years? And what is superior genes anyway, as a kid can win the Science Fair, perhaps get straight A’s or be a super star athlete. But what happens when a kid seems to be so good at everything they do?
This subject recently came up when discussing royal bloodlines in an online think tank and over 1 million Americans have royal bloodlines and often these kids are fairly competitive in nature. Now then, without stating that one with a particular bloodlines is superior or not and only in observing in hindsight my fellow man, I would say that whatever “I” am made of is good genes, as it has allowed me to accomplish more and in hindsight, out achieve others in various endeavors I have ever participated in?
Now in my case one could say it is the inner will and drive of a “Fighter Pilot” and “Top Gun” father playing in the present period of “Aerial Knights” and a potentially over producing Testosterone mother who was an “Olympic Swimmer” caliber athlete who raised me to compete and win, never give up, take responsibility and do what you say you are going to do you see? Holding me to a higher standard and greater expectations.
What if all parents held their kids to these standards and expectations? Then surely our nation would be stronger. So, thanks mom and shouldn’t this also be something all parents should think about? A child’s success is 80% nurture and 20% genetics and as a parent we need to be thinking here. Consider this in 2006.
